Westwood to face Justin Rose

English golfers Justin Rose and Lee Westwood set up an all English final at the World Golf Final in Turkey thanks to superb rounds that saw them hitting 62 and 61 respectively. The match could ultimately turn out to be an all birdie affair if the two Englishmen can produce their 62 and 61 scores in the final with Rose conceding that the achievement of his compatriot was easily the greater of the two.

When he heard about Westwood’s score of 10 under against Charl Schwartzel, Rose was absolutely shocked and admitted that he didn’t think that it could be done on an afternoon like that. Rose also mentioned that his 62 shot in the morning under perfect conditions made it easier for him by almost three shots and admitted that if Lee Westwood played during that time, he could have easily gone around 59, a tremendous achievement in itself.

And Westwood also expressed his satisfaction at the brilliant round of gold that he had. He admitted that he had never been 17 under for day before in his career and that 61 score came on the back of the five best rounds of his career. He went on to add that he was particularly pleased with his short game around the greens. The Englishman holed out from a bunker on the sixth hole and went on to chip one in on the thirteenth.

Lee Westwood mentioned that he is extremely pleased to be playing so well and getting back to the proper scheme of things after the Ryder Cup. Westwood has been taking advice from Tony Johnstone over the last couple of months and the way his short game has developed, it can be said that he is reaping the rewards of his association with his new coach to the utmost.
