Lee Westwood is surely passing through a great stage at the moment- the great golfer has recently clinched triumph at Indonesian Masters, that marked a hat-trick win for the golf champ.
The win came post his playoff victory and he beat Thai golfer Chapchai Nirat to claim the win at Indonesian Masters this time.
The erstwhile # 1, who won the Indonesian Masters both in 2011 & 2012, could just muster a last round of 1-over-par seventy three for a 7-under 281 total- letting slip one overnight advantage at Royale Jakarta Golf Club.
Lee had this opportunity to claim triumph on par-5 eighteenth but he failed with birdie effort, which implied to a play-off against Nirat, who came up with a spectacular 66 to the finish post snapping iron against tree in the early quarter of 3rd round.
However, the English golfer was flawless on 18th in play-off as he noticed birdie on 1st extra hole & ultimately was able to edge out 4-times Asian Tour champ Chapchai.
“I consider myself lucky that I had read on 18 for play-of”, remarked Westwood while approached to speak a few words about his great win.
“It was quite a hard day…but I did manage to fight back.”
“Winning is never easy & it was quite hard out there”, Westwood continued. “I did not start well but I did battle back & made two birdies that made my state comfortable prior to 3 bad putts on last 3 greens.”
“I have been really fortunate. The moment I came up 5 years back, I really liked this course & thought that it could match up with my game. It is really nice to come here 3 times & win 3 times. That seems to a great hat-trick.”
Aussie golfer Kalem Richardson took to the 3rd position.
