To Place In Masters Lee Westwood Faces Fight

By Sunday unless Lee Westwood wins his proud run 13 consecutive masters ends finally. Englishman determined should he fail or not to downcast as he is getting positive vibes from golfing inactivity.

He plummeted 90th in the rankings by earning top 50 invites at the start of the week. One more spot opens for Houston champion at 44 years old has fit in his 43rd professional title.

Westwood hasn’t played for six weeks as because of blank weeks of European Tour schedule and divorced father of two and thus he will not be able to play for at least a month another. It seems that he is winding up his career, but he’s looking for another opportunity and well deserved R&R.

He adds in his statement “He cannot qualify for the World Golf Championship in Mexico or Austin after that he is not able to go to China or India in just one week. He is in the fortunate position to go and pick and choose”.

“In a few weeks he will be about 45 but played only for 25 years at the top level and have never taken long breaks or bad injuries and played many tournaments in the last years at least 30 or more.”

A master without Westwood seems strange but in the last year his name on the Leaderboard is as much as Augusta fixture. Westwood his popular for his play as only 86 players currently qualify. He said ” the field is too small which is the nice thing about masters and I have not played well so don’t deserve to be there.”

Westwood will attend, sponsor night, Tuesday evening and looking the opportunity to work for the BBC and Sky during tournament. But don’t expect as I only hit balls in three hours in the last six weeks.
