Golf’s Golden Couple Reach Settlement

American professional Golfer Jason Dufner and his famous wife Amanda Dufner, have finally reached a divorce settlement.

Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Dufner is a part of the PGA Tour where he is a three-time winner. He won his major championship title in 2013 at the PGA Championship in August with a two-stroke victory at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York.

Once considered as the golden couple of golf, Dufner and Amanda met through a mutual friend and got engaged in 2011. They tied the knot in 2012, but went for a separation in this February. The divorce was confirmed on 31st March.

Amanda filed the divorce papers in March 16th stating that the couple is suffering from ‘irretrievable breakdown of the marriage’ and that there was ‘a complete incompatibility of temperament that the parties can no longer live together.’

After the settlement Amanda will be awarded with $2.5million (£1.8m), as well as their Croatian Yacht Charter business, while Jason will maintain his ownership of two of the couple’s houses at Auburn, Ala., including one that is under construction on a 46-acre area.

The couple has a massive internet follower and their divorce has thus gained a ton of attention and became a topic of gossip among their fans. A picture of Jason leaning on a wall during a visit to the Salesmanship Youth and Family Centers in March 2013 went viral. It became the famous “Dufnering” meme, which provoked many PGA Tour golfers along with Keegan Bradley to post photos of themselves imitating Dufner’s pose as a joke.

Amanda Dufner is also a darling of social media and received plenty of media attention when her ex husband won the PGA Championship in 2013. She had thousands of followers in her instagram account but she deactivated it this week. Both Jason and Amanda refrained themselves from making any comments on this subject.
